  • "This Server Is Using A Modified Version of The Map"

After watching MCrow’s wonderful tutorial for uploading a reuploaded map for Escalation, I am now getting the error: “This Server Is Using A Modified Version of The Map.” I looked online and found that I may need to update the map but I’m not sure if that is the issue or not.

Side note: The map works perfectly fine for singleplayer…

  • SOLVED!!!!! So I asked on Discord, someone told me to delete the workshop folders as there an error within it. After deleting it, everything downloaded normally. I loaded the server and everything works as it should with the level 3 crafting. Thank you so much MCrow!!! 😁

    I think I’ve had this issue before, try to go into your maps folder, and see if theres an escalation, if u have had it on the server before, if yes, delete it, and place ur map there, I think this is how I fixed this last time, but im sure that MCrow will have a better answer as I sometimes can’t fix this issue regardless of using this method

    darth_revan660 did you remember to rename the map, so it doesn’t conflict with original Escalation map? Is this error happening only when you try to join your server or some of your players have it too?

        MCrow Yes I had the correct name and everything, I also deleted the reupload and tried again ensuring everything is 100% correct… I’m going to delete it and retry once more right now.

            darth_revan660 I download your map and checked the files. Your map name is set to Hunts Escalation not Hunts Survival, so you should use that in Commands.dat.

            I’m not sure why it failed to download though. Maybe because you have recently uploaded it and Steam cache hasn’t refreshed yet.

            To disable all kinds of Steam Workshop cache on your server, in the WorkshopDownloadConfig.json set the Query_Cache_Max_Age_Seconds to some smaller value like 10 (seconds) instead of 600

              I updated the two files, I did realize I had the wrong name and corrected it. I changed what you told me to change but it is still showing same errors.

                darth_revan660 perhaps Steam is partially down, because they have routine maintenance works on Tuesdays. Try to install another, some popular mod and see if that works.
                If it doesn’t just retry every 10-30 minutes or wait a few hours or for tomorrow 😔

                  Yes I’m not sure what is going on… maybe it is the steam servers acting up or maybe I did something wrong and I’m not seeing it… 😕 I saw you mentioned in someone else’s post that you might be able to do a Discord call? I would hate to waste your time trying to find something over chat I’m sorry. My timezone is PST so we have very different time zones but I will do what ever time works best for you.
